Whenever someone picks up a bottle of our juice or a jar of our pickle, they see the final product. What they don’t see is the journey behind it. A journey that begins in the farms of Uttarakhand, passes through the hands of hardworking villagers, and reaches families across India.
For me, Kumaon Herbal has never been just a business. It is a way of creating opportunities in the place I proudly call home.
Our story starts in Kotabagh, a small town nestled in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. This is where our family has lived, farmed, and built deep connections with the local community. Many of the fruits and ingredients used in our products come from farms that follow natural farming practices, including our own family farms. We believe that good food begins with good ingredients, and good ingredients begin with healthy soil and responsible farming.
What makes me most proud is not the machines inside our factory or the number of products we sell. It is the people.
Today, our manufacturing unit provides employment to more than 16 local individuals, including 10 to 11 women from nearby villages. For many families, these jobs provide an additional source of income without requiring them to leave their homes and communities. Seeing local women gain financial independence and contribute to their households is one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.
Our factory combines traditional food knowledge with modern processing methods. Inside the unit, more than 20 machines work together to transform fresh produce into finished products. From washing and sorting to pulping, crushing, mixing, processing, filling, sealing, and packaging, every step is carried out with care and attention to quality. These systems help us maintain hygiene, consistency, and efficiency while preserving the natural goodness of the ingredients we use.
Yet the true strength of our operation is not technology. It is the people behind it.
Every product represents the effort of farmers who cultivate the crops, workers who process them, women who help manufacture and package them, and the local community that supports our vision. In many ways, Kumaon Herbal is a collective effort built by the people of Uttarakhand.
Today, our products are available through both online and offline channels, allowing customers from different parts of the country to experience authentic products inspired by the traditions of the Himalayas. Every order that reaches a customer’s doorstep supports a chain of livelihoods that begins in the villages of Kumaon.
When my family and I started this journey, our goal was never simply to manufacture food products. We wanted to create value for our community, support local employment, and showcase the richness of Uttarakhand to a wider audience.
As Kumaon Herbal continues to grow, that mission remains unchanged.
From farming to processing, from packaging to delivery, we are proud to create products that not only nourish people but also help strengthen the communities that make them possible.
